Embracing the bounty of Indiana's Black Raspberry season!

Black Raspberries, native to our state, are known for their rich sweet taste. Smaller and more fragile than red raspberries, they must be handpicked to avoid damage. These thorny shrubs can be found along woodland edges throughout Indiana. They’re ripe for picking from late June through July, although you have to get them before the birds do.

Whether you enjoy them fresh off the vine, blended into smoothies, made into jams, or baked into pies, these berries remind us of the importance of cherishing our state’s food heritage.
